ORIGIN OF HIV AIDS

ORIGIN OF HIV & AIDS Sunset on the Congo River  HIV first began to spread along the historic trade routes of the Congo basin in the 1920s. KEY POINTS: HIV crossed from chimps to humans in the 1920s in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo. This was probably as a result of chimps carrying the Simian Immunodeficiency Virus (SIV), a virus closely related to HIV, being hunted and eaten by people living in the area. The origin of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) has been a subject of scientific research and debate since the virus was identified in the 1980s. There is now a wealth of evidence on how, when and where HIV first began to cause illness in humans. You can find out more about the origins and history of HIV through our interactive timeline, where you can read, watch, listen and explore key events from the history of the epidemic. The link between HIV and SIV HIV is a type of lentivirus, which means it attacks the immune system. In a similar way, the Simian...

PERSONAL OPINION ON 11/16 TWIN BOMB ATTACKS IN KAMPALA CITY

By David Maclaren KIIZA The daybreak was normal with everybody on rush hours to reach workplace with all routes entering and within the city filled with the usual traffic jam. However; three hours later that is 10 05hrs the first bomb blast occurred just in front of the Jubilee Insurance building on Parliament Avenue and 3 minutes later, another bomb blast occurred just near the main entrance to the Kampala Central Police station. The two twin bomb blasts claimed 4 lives and 33 people critically injured. My analysis is based on the fact that after a security press briefing at Police Headquarters in Naguru, a combined CCTV footage about the twin bomb blasts was released and it’s from this that questions whose answers may not be available. I argue that the person in the footage at CPS was not the real terrorist but a mere misguided youth who didn’t know what he was carrying as a delivery boy because he looked confused because of his uncoordinated movement. What police terms...

It is vital that we accept our profound life as critical and most particularly with petitions, this is on the grounds that in our books of scriptures it reveals to us that the fallen angel has sought nothing else other than to slaughter, to take and to pulverize most particularly beneficial things, yet it is our obligation to keep away from demon from taking from us or hurting us with the intensity of supplications. As Christians u are a lot of mindful that the villain, his evil presences and his witches are continually looking for a feeble vessel to decimate In an offer to extol their realm as it is written in the good book. Presently we as of now observe the primary key motivation behind why we as a whole should be very pious. As a respectable Christian it’s acceptable to see bunches of book of scriptures refrains to empower you express per the expression of God in all that you state, the information on the holy book alone orders POWER. The expression of God ought to reflect in all t...

MY JOURNEY INTO DRUGS FROM FARMER TO FINAL CARTEL DEALER (FOCUS ROUTE FROM BOGOTA TO VANCOUVER)

In my late 20s,I took alot of time to understand how drugs move from the producer to the final consumer as a drug Lord called the drugs supply chain. I chose to spend my education vacation in Bogota, Colombia. It was not easy to get friends in that business but I spent close to two weeks visiting various villages from Bogota. On my 13th day,I almost lost hope and that's when, one farmer Haturo, offered me a lift to Bogota. However, after 30min ride in his truck,he received a call that one part of the farm's processing point was burnt by unknown people and so we had to first reach his farm and my quest on drugs begin. Hutoro had a 200acre farm of cannabis with a 300sqm processing plant but surprisingly with only five works each handling 40 acreage.Much as his plant was partly burnt, fire had already been put out by his fire fighting system installed. He explained to me what he actually goes through to maintain his farm, process the drug and stealthily sells it to different clients in Bo...

FISCAL REGIME DESIGN AND REVENUE COLLECTION RESOURCE ECONOMICS Thought-provoking questions: 1.     What are the key concepts in resource economics? 2.     How does uncertainty in resource extraction influence the design of the fiscal regime? 3.     How might differences in resource endowments across countries result in different fiscal policies? Good morning or good afternoon, depending where you are. I'm privileged to have an opportunity to spend some time addressing the fiscal regimes for extractive industries. I have quite a lot of material to present and so I hope you will bear with me. I'm going to cover the fundamentals of resource economics to start with and then move on to the principles and practices of fiscal policy for extractives, then spend some time talking about fiscal regime design and some of the challenges around that and then finally move on to the question of revenue administration, which may be the la...
