THE ESSENCE OF EASTER
Scripture Reference: Romans 6:8
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him.
Jesus came to this earth for a purpose. Firstly He was born as a human being yet fully God. He grew up and later commenced His ministry at about 30years of age. For the following three years He preached the gospel of the Kingdom with supernatural power as He performed untold and mind-boggling miracles, signs and wonders.
As it was foretold, He was nailed to death on the cross of Calvary. Three days after His burial, He came back to life. Afterward He ascended to Heaven and is finally seated on the throne of glory.
The various stages of the life of Christ after His arrival on earth have meanings to them. The most important of them all is His resurrection from the death (1 Cor 15:17). His resurrection from death was and still is the seal of the victory we have as God’s people.
Christ has taken already your place of sin, sickness, poverty, worry, depression, confusion so that you could partake in His place of righteousness, perfect health, wealth, joy, sound mind and victory – that’s His best for you!
Don’t just go through the motion of the Easter festivity. Rather be mindful and reflect on what the Lord Jesus has accomplished for you through his life, death, burial and resurrection; this is the true meaning of Easter.
